DEKALB Many have coached high school girls' basketball in Mississippi over the years, but none have compiled more wins than Leake Academy's Doyle Wolverton.
Wolverton moved to the top of the list with Saturday's 66-47 win at Kemper Academy.
Leake improved to 16-1, giving Wolverton his 862nd career win, all at Leake over a 29-year span. He entered the game at Knox Dudley Jr. Gymnasium tied with Robert Hooker at 861.
From 1984-89, the Rebelettes went 175-6. Then from 1996-2000, Leake posted a 159-11 mark.
Saturday's win over Kemper was a lot tougher than an earlier 90-64 blowout of the Lady Rams at Madden.

Kristin Caldwell scored 10 points in the second quarter as Leake built a 30-21 lead going into halftime.
The Rebelettes still led by nine going into the fourth quarter.
Leake scored nine of the first 12 points of the fourth quarter to grab a 55-40 advantage.
Caldwell had 11 points in the final period and finished with a game-high 31 to go with 13 rebounds.
Leake also got 14 points from Reagan Dees, six from Caroline Dees, five from Anna Lisa Posey, and four from Greggina Tadlock.
Kemper, 12-4, got 18 points from Libby Myers, who hit five 3-pointers, four of which came in the third quarter. Samantha Harpole added 14 points, Kayla Mosely had seven, and Beach had six.
