PHILADELPHIA Services for Ruby Spears will be held today at 3:30 p.m. at Beatline Baptist Church in Neshoba County with the Rev. Ben McDaniel officiating. Burial will be in Beatline Cemetery. McClain-Hays Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Spears, 84, of Philadelphia, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, in Union.
Survivors include his son, Doyle Spears of Austin, Texas; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sisters, Allie George of Jackson, Clara Pearson and Annie Ruth George, both of Union; and a brother, E.L. Sharp of Vicksburg.
Retired chief petty officer
DEKALB Services for Erole Mesadieu will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Love City Fellowship in Meridian with the Rev. Lamorris Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. E.E. McDonald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Mesadieu, 44, of Meridian, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, in his home.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanetta Mesadieu of Meridian; children, Kimberly Felix of Miami, Erole Mesadieu Jr. and JaCinta Mesadieu, both of Meridian; his father, Lucien Mesadieu of Haiti; brothers, Jean Mesadieu and his wife, Guerlie, Yves Lebrun and his wife, Francoise, and Louis Mesadieu, all of Miami, and Lys Mesadieu of Atlanta; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Visitation will be Friday 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at E.E. McDonald Community Chapel in Meridian.

Services for Odell Portis Sr. will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Alpha and Omega Holiness Church with the Rev. Freddie Ford officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Toomsuba. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Portis, 52, of Toomsuba, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Portis; daughters, Erica Portis and Chandra Portis, all of Toomsuba; sons, Odell Portis Jr. and Terrance Lee, both of Meridian, Ladorn Portis, George Portis and Chrisco Portis, all of Toomsuba; his parents, Chester and Edna Mae Portis of Lauderdale; sisters, Annie Portis, Ruby Baylor, Sandra Portis and Edna Sillimon, all of Meridian, Jenette Portis and Vilee Sillimon, both of Lauderdale, Carolyn Carter of Kewanee, Ethel Mae Portis of Quitman and Shirley Singleton of NAS Meridian; brothers, Benard Portis of Toomsuba, Jessie Portis and D.S. McCalebb of Lauderdale, Robert Portis of Marion, Chester Portis Jr. of Enterprise and Abraham Portis of Meridian.
Visitation will be Friday 7:30 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
PEARL Services for Eva Dee Wyatt will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church in Newton. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Wyatt, 78, of Pearl, formerly of Decatur, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, in her home.
Survivors include her sons, Tommy Wyatt of Conehatta and Lt. Col. Ricky Wyatt of Norman, Okla.; a daughter, Sybil Crenshaw of Pearl; a sister, Ann McKee of Clinton; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Wyatt; and a grandson, Shane Wyatt.
Visitation will be Saturday 4 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home and 1 p.m. until service time at the church.
BRIDGEPORT, W.V. Services for Grace E. Heaster were held Monday at 11 a.m. at Burnside Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steven E. Dorsey officiating. Burial was in Bridgeport Cemetery.
Mrs. Heaster, 88, of Bridgeport, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, at Meadowview Manor Health Care Center in Bridgeport.
Survivors include her son, Harold J. Heaster and his wife, Barbaree, of Bridgeport and Ormond Beach, Fla.; daughters, Betty Henderson and her husband, Clee, of Bridgeport and Phyllis Shepler and her husband, Thomas, of Hinkle Lake, W.V.; nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Ollie Ellison Feather; her husband, H.L. Heaster; a grandson, Gregory Heaster; a sister, Ocelia Haymond; and a brother, Lawrence Feather.
Memorials may be made to Bridgeport United Methodist Church Permanent Fund, 251 Worthington Drive, Bridgeport, WV 26330.
Arrangements were incomplete at Stephens Funeral Home for Christine Walden, 67, of Collinsville, who died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, in her home.
