QUITMAN Graveside services for Eddie Frances Castleman will be held today at 2 p.m. at Harmony Cemetery with the Rev. Rodney Ward officiating. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Castleman, 90, of Quitman, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at his home.
Survivors include three cousins, Rebecca Sinclair of Quitman and Mary Charles Lax and Everett Lynn Lax, both of Jackson; a niece, Carolyn Hennington of Quitman; and two nephews, David Sinclair of Laurel and Robert Castleman of Memphis, Tenn.
Visitation will be today from noon until 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
GILBERTOWN, Ala. Services for Bertha Lee Mosley will be held today at 2 p.m. at Chappell Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Archie McIntyre and Leon Ross officiating. Burial will be in Mosley Cemetery.
Ms. Mosley, 89, of Gilbertown, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at Springhill Manor in Mobile.
Survivors include a brother, Horace Hilton Mosley of Gilbertown; and Edna Virginia Sibley of Mobile.
Visitation will be today from 1 p.m.-2 p.m. at the church.
PHILADELPHIA Services for Johnnie Kathleen Stribling will be held today at 3:30 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rick Holbert officiating. Burial will be in Cedarlawn Cemetery.
Miss Stribling, 91, of Philadelphia, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at Neshoba County Nursing Home. She was a retired first grade teacher from the Meridian School District. She was a Presbyterian. She was a graduate of Philadelphia High School and she held a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Southern Mississippi and a master's degree in elementary education from Mississippi State University.
Survivors include two sisters, Mary Ruth Stribling and Sara Stribling, both of Philadelphia; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by he parents, Ebba and Cal Stribling; four brothers, Jack, Dick, Sam, and James Stribling; and a sister, Marguerite Hamill.
Visitation will be today from 2 p.m. until service time at the church.
Services for Eleanor Nathalie "Nat" Gunn will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Allen Dearing officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Ms. Gunn, 87, of Meridian, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Marion Methodist Church and was retired from both Lauderdale County and the Meridian city school systems. She had also been employed by Girl Scouts of America, she was a member of Business and Professional Women's Association, Alpha Delta Kappa and Lambda Literary Club, Scottish Society, Retired Teachers Association and several bridge clubs. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
Survivors include her brother, Barney Gunn and his wife, Marge, of Meridian; nephews, Harlan Davis and his wife, Esta Nell and Ken Davis and his wife, Angela; a niece, Jan La Rue and her husband, Jim; great-nieces, Brittany and Kayla Davis, Michelle La Rue Robbins and her husband, Keith; great-nephews, Jeff Davis and his wife, Donna; and a great-great-nephew, Lane Davis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.B. and Edna Gunn; a sister, Marguerite Davis; and a nephew, Eric Gunn.
Pallbearers will be Harlan Davis, Ken Davis, Jeff Davis, Jimmy McDonald, Tommy Dale Gunn and Freddy Ollhoft.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services for Robert E. "R.E." Everett Sr., will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Russell Baptist Church with the Revs. Clay Chancelor and Gill Allan officiating. Burial will be in Old Marion Cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Everett, 68, of Russell, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He retired as a Kansas City Southern Railroad conductor after 42 years of service. He was a member of the Russell Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a deacon and he served as chairman of the deacons at his church. He was a member of the Gideon's East Camp in Meridian.
Mr. Everett was a heart transplant recipient in 1996. He worked closely with the Mississippi Organ Recovery Association on educating the public about organ donations.
Survivors include his wife, Martha A. Everett of Russell; a daughter, Marsha Buckley and her husband, Don, of Russell; a son, Dr. Robert Everett Jr., and his wife, Shannon, of Ocean Springs; five grandchildren, Matthew and Natalie Buckley and Nicholas, Samuel and Maxine Everett; a sister, Joyce Caffey and her husband, Claude, of Chickasaw, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by Flem and Annie Mae Everett and three brothers J.B., Beal, and Fred Everett.
The family requests memorials be made to Gideon East Camp or the Mississippi Organ Recovery Association.
Pallbearers will be John Harper, Dr. Gary Gibson, Tex Jones, James Jones, Robby Reece and Rubert Buchannan.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Joe Rawson Sunday School class.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services for Lloyd Lamar Freeman will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim A. Williams officiating. Burial will be in Collinsville United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Freeman, 77, a native of Meridian and a resident of Denham Springs, La., died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, in Baton Rouge, La. He was retired from the Illinos Central Railroad. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars organization.
Mr. Freeman was a simple man who was loved by his family and will be sadly missed by his loved ones. He also was an avid outdoorsman.
Survivors include two sisters, Carleen Clearman and her husband, P.L., of Warner Robbins, Ga., and Sarah Gully and her husband, John Dan Gully Sr., of Denham Springs, La.; three nephews, Brian Clearman, Alan Clearman and Dan Gully Jr.; a niece, Teri G. Sullivan; three great nieces, Audrey Clearman, Michelle Denn and Rachel Gully; three great nephews, John L. Sullivan, Saun A. Sullivan and Justin A. Sullivan; and two great-great-nephews, Gannon Kale Denn and Preston Denn.
Pallbearers will be Brian Clearman, Alan Clearman, Dan Gully Jr., Melvin Clark and Leroy Moorse.
Visitation will be Monday from 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
