High school students will have a chance next week to learn ways they can pay for their college education.
A two-day College Admissions Institute called "Get Ready and Do Something," or GRADS for short is set for Monday and Tuesday at Mississippi State University-Meridian Campus.
Lamar School, the Montgomery Institute and Services for Survival will host the event.
The two-day event begins Monday at 7 p.m. when Mary Beth Marklein, education reporter for USA Today, gives the keynote speech at Mississippi State University-Meridian Campus's Khalmus Auditorium.
The next day, activities begin at 11 a.m. in the Khalmus Auditorium.
Representatives from the Atlanta-based Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation, a corporate-sponsored scholarship program, will attend that day to work one-on-one with students.
Registration for Monday night begins at 6 p.m., but is not necessary to attend the event. Registration is necessary for the following day and can be made now through Friday.
For more information, call Beth Touchstone at 483-7038 or send e-mail to abranning@lamarschool.com.
