Services for Vera Mae Walker will be held today at 11 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bennie Robertson officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Walker, 78, of Collinsville, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, at Heartfelt Hospice. She worked as a dietitian at Meridian Nursing Center for many years.
Survivors include her husband, J.D. Walker of Meridian; daughters, Frances Nimmo of Jonesboro, Ark., and Lea Ann Smith of Collinsville; four grandchildren, Keith Nimmo and Mary Nimmo, both of Jonesboro, Sommer Jones and Chelsa Jones, both of Collinsville; a son-in-law, Gordon Smith of Collinsville; and a sister, Earlene Sturges of Meridian.
Pallbearers will be Gene May, Lex Gullette, Jonathan Lucas, Jerry May, Mickey May and Gordon Smith.

BUTLER, Ala. Services for Hattie Means Allen will be held today at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Butler with the Revs. Micah Gandy and Scottie Fulcher officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery in Lavaca.
Mrs. Allen, 89, of Butler, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, at Willow Trace Nursing Center.
Survivors include her sons, Richard M. "Pete" Allen, William M. "Bill" Allen, Charlie E. Allen and Robert Dale Allen, all of Butler, and Harvey J. Allen of Meridian; daughters, Betty Gibson of Gilbertown, Ann Waycaster of Vaiden, Bonnie Jenkins of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., and Wanda Bonner of Cromwell; 26 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, seven step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

RUSSELL, Kan. Services for Amon Reeves will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Pohlman's Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Deanna Fluck officiating. Burial will be in Lucas Cemetery with full military honors.
Mr. Reeves, 65, of Russell, formerly of Newton, died Monday, Sept. 8, 2003, in his home. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves and the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara, of Russell; daughters, Kimberly Miller and her husband, Patrick, of Garfield, Kan., and Kris Manning and her husband, Patrick, of Lawrence, Kan.; three brothers, Eugene Boutwell Jr., Green Boutwell and Charles R. Boutwell, all of Newton; a sister, Sheryl Ann Palmer of Lucas, Kan.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Eugene Boutwell; and a brother, Joseph Boutwell.
Memorials may be made to University of Kansas Medical Cancer Center in care of Pohlman's Mortuary, 610 N. Maple St. Russell, KS 67665.
Visitation will be today 3 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial Services for Emily Bonner Krouse Smith will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Smith, 94, of Atlanta,formerly of Meridian, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003,in Atlanta. She was born on Aug. 29, 1909 in Meridian and has lived in Atlanta since 1997. She was the daughter of Martha Dillehay Krouse and Penn Jeffries Krouse, the architect of First Presbyterian Church in Meridian, where she maintained active members throughout her life. Her church and family were foremost in her life and she was a steady and strong encouragement to her husband in his business, civic and philanthropic activities. Though she embraced many interests, her concern for others and appreciation of meaningful friendships was paramount. Drawing deep on her Christian faith and joy of friends, she possessed a calm inner strength and outgoing graciousness throughout her life.
Survivors include her daughter, Sylvia Smith Griffin of Atlanta; a son, the Rev. Dr. Timothy R. Smith f Pawleys Island, S.C.; three granddaughters and two grandsons and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Otho R. Smith and her parents.
Visitation will be Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church.

PHILADELPHIA Services for Kermit Barnett will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Revs. Don Savell and Steve Craft officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Methodist Church Cemetery in Union.
Mr. Barnett, 84, of Philadelphia, died Monday, Sept. 8, 2003, at Neshoba County General Hospital in Philadelphia. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his brother, Emmett Leroy Barnett of Southaven; and a sister, Aline Newman of Olive Branch.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services for Mary Catherine Cunningham will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at State Boulevard Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Kevin Jones officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Cunningham, 83, of Meridian, died Monday, Sept. 8, 2003, in Brandon, Fla.
Visitation will be Thursday 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
