EMCC vice president returns
to MSU's Starkville campus

Ed Davis, vice president of East Mississippi Community College's Scooba campus, has resigned to return to Mississippi State University in Starkville.
Davis, in his sixth year as EMCC's vice president, has also served as director of recruiting, administrator of the Columbus Air Force Base extension, basketball coach and science instructor. Davis graduated from EMCC in 1976.
Davis has also served as associate director of College and School Relations at Mississippi State University. He will return to MSU to direct the Community College Leadership Program.
A graduate of MSU, Davis earned a bachelor's degree in 1978, a master's degree in education in 1984 and a doctorate in 1992.
He will live in Starkville with his wife, Louise, who also works for MSU, and their sons, Eric and Chris.
Davis' position at EMCC will be filled by W.S. "Bud" Smith, who comes to Mississippi from Texas A&M University, where he was associate vice president for student affairs and enrollment management. He previously worked at Emporia State University, Mississippi State University, Auburn University and Air Command and Staff College in Virginia.
EMCC President Tommy Davis said he is pleased that Smith is joining the EMCC staff.
