Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church burns

Volunteer firefighters from the Lauderdale, Russell and Northeast stations responded to a fire at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church Wednesday at about 9:30 p.m.
Clarence Butler, the county's volunteer fire coordinator, said the roof of the church had already fallen in by the time firefighters arrived. The church is in the northeast part of Lauderdale County, near Highways 39 and 45.
Butler said the fire is under investigation.
