West Lauderdale standout J.J. Huggins showed she has made up her mind where to play basketball next season by signing with the Lady Eagles of Meridian Community College on Wednesday afternoon.
Huggins, a 5-foot-9 guard signed with the Lady Eagles during a press conference at MCC's Damon Fitness Center.
Huggins led the Lady Knights of West Lauderdale by averaging 16.3 points per game. She also averaged 8.3 rebounds per game and was named to the Honorable Mention All-State team last season.
After a very good high school career for the Lady Knights, Huggins will now try to help the Lady Eagles.
Huggins was a part of a couple very impressive West Lauderdale seasons and will be missed by the Lady Knights. West finished runner-up in the state each year and posted a 64-9 record during the two-year span.
Huggins will also have a opportunity to play with her sister Jawanda Huggins again next year. The two played together during the first of the two runner-up seasons before Jawanda moved on to play for the Lady Eagles last season.
