Graveside services for Lavelle Culpepper will be held today at 1 p.m. at Causeyville Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Ernest Allen officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Culpepper, 88, of Causeyville, died Tuesday, April 22, 2003, at Beverly Healthcare Center. Mr. Culpepper will be remembered as one of the kindest and gentlest men a person could meet.
Survivors include his wife of more than 50 years, Mary Culpepper of Causeyville; a sister, Aline Camp of Meridian; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Causeyville Baptist Church.

Services for Alden M. Wallace will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Dr. Rhett Payne, Robert Horel and Danny Baliant officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mr. Wallace, 83, of Meridian, died Monday, April 21, 2003, in his home. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Meridian and King Solomon Lodge No. 333 in Meridian for more than 50 years. He was a member of the Meridian York Rite Bodies-Meridian Chapter No. 25, Royal Arch Mason and Cyrene Commandery for more than 50 years. He was a No. 9 Knights Templar and a Hamasa Shrine member for more than 50 years. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Nell; a daughter, Cheryl Shannon and her husband, Stanley; a son, A.M. "Bubber" Wallace III and his wife, Missy; two grandsons, Wallace Dearing and his wife, Kristi, and Carney Dearing and his wife, Jessica, all of Meridian; two granddaughters, Michelle Smith and her husband, Buck, of Madison, Cara Waite and her husband, Richard, of Jackson; Michelle and Cara's mother, Karen S. Wallace of Meridian; great-grandchildren, Brady and Blake Dearing, Alex Smith and Layla Waite; and the nursing staff that provided tender and loving care, Anna Holliday, Beverly Gaddis, Mary Pettigrew and Ylondi Stanley, Linda Jordan, Janet Blanks, Marshell Willis, Willie Hill, Gaynell Robinson, Dr. Robert Kiehn and Heartfelt Hospice.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alden and Rita Wallace of Tuskeegee, Ala.
Pallbearers will be Wallace Dearing, Carney Dearing, Buck Smith, Richard Waite, Don Marascalco and Vance Grantham.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Allbrook, Edwin McArthur, Carl Merritt, Beetle Huffmaster and Dr. Robert Kiehn.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-7 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

CLINTON Services for Jean Street will be held Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Clinton Cemetery.
Ms. Street, 69, of Clinton, died Monday, April 21, 2003, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. She received two degrees in library science, a bachelor's degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and a master's degree from Louisiana State University. She was named Alumna of the year by Copiah-Lincoln Community College in 1992. The American Library Newspaper Openers named her super librarian in March 1987, in recognition of outstanding feats in the name of librarianship. She was a catalogue librarian in Corinth, Greenwood, and Meridian. She retired in the fall of 1986, and moved to her hometown of Clinton, where she enjoyed volunteering at the library. She loved to read for pleasure, expecially science fiction.
She has been an inspiration to many people through the years and used her talents and brilliant mind to serve people. She did not allow her physical limitations to keep her from leading a very productive life. She was a member of First Baptist Church Clinton, and especially loved the great hymns and continued to sing them with her friends in the last months of her life.
Survivors include her brother, Jim Street and his wife, Margaret and Gary Cahill; a nephew Scott Lewis Street and his wife, Kelly; nieces, Christy Street Hawks and her husband, Bill, Amy Cahill Williamson and her husband, Michael, and Laura Cahill Dyess and her husband, Barry; great-nieces, Mary Scott Street, Kate Street and Taylor Hawks; and several cousins and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Ruth Watkins Street.
Memorials may be made to A.C. Watkins Fund of the Mississippi Baptist Foundation, 515 Mississippi Street, Jackson, MS 39201 or Hospice Ministries, 450 Towne Center Boulevard, Ridgeland, MS 39157.
Pallbearers will be Joe Wayne Bennett, Jim Craig, Bob Karlak, Herbert Street, Scott Street and Michael Williamson.
Visitation will be Thursday 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
