Smith, Thames

Dr. and Mrs. James Keith Smith of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Maria Lara, to Matthew Ryan Thames, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Thames of Hattiesburg.
The wedding will be Saturday, April 26, 2003, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Hattiesburg.
Miss Smith is the granddaughter of Bertie Alice Smith of Union and the late Gipson Smith, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Davie Adkins of Union.
The bride-elect is a graduate of the Mississippi School for Math and Science. She received a bachelor's degrees from the University of Southern Mississippi and a master's in marriage and family therapy from Reform Theological Seminary.
Miss Smith is employed by the Mississippi Children's Advocacy Center as a therapist for victims of child abuse and sexually abused children.
Mr. Thames is the grandson of Katherine Thames and the late William Thames, Margaret Hill and the late Leonard Hill, all of Hattiesburg.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Oak Grove High School. He received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Mississippi College and a master's in marriage and family therapy from Reform Theological Seminary.
Mr. Thames is employed by Warren Yazoo Community Health Center as an outpatient clinical therapist.
A reception will be in the church following the ceremony.
