A song favored by the pastor of a Meridian church provided inspiration for an upcoming Easter production.
Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church's presentation of "May We Never Forget" will debut at 7 p.m. on Good Friday. A second performance is scheduled for 7 p.m. the next day.
Song of inspiration
Within 30 minutes, Diana, who has written most of the church's stage productions, completed the composition. The format differs from many of the church's previous productions.
Another twist to the production is limited dialogue.
The music
A repertoire of more than 12 songs and medleys are featured in "May We Never Forget." Music was coordinated by Ken Patterson, minister of music at Fifteenth Avenue.
Songs include "It is Written," "Holy, Holy, Holy" "Go Change the World," "Blessed Are You," "In the Presence of Jehovah," "Look What They've Done" and "Hosanna." The church choir and soloists will perform the music.
While "May We Never Forget" is presented as part of Fifteenth Avenue's observance of the Easter season, its message goes beyond that.
