receives grant from BellSouth

MAYHEW East Mississippi Community College has received a $10,000 grant from BellSouth, it was announced by Dr. Tommy Davis, EMCC president, and C.D. Smith, BellSouth regional manager.
The $10,000 grant to EMCC is part of a strategic BellSouth initiative to establish scholarship endowment funds for higher education in communities statewide. EMCC will oversee the administration and award process for the scholarship fund.
BellSouth will award a total of $150,000 in Mississippi $10,000 to each of the 15 community colleges in the state.
The grants were awarded to build on the mission of the State Board of Community and Junior Colleges, which is to enhance a community and junior college education and workforce training for Mississippians, promote positive leadership, and create partnerships with business, industry, and other entities.
