A 20-year-old Meridian man remained in the Lauderdale County Jail on $20,000 bond Thursday after being charged with burglarizing an occupied dwelling and committing aggravated assault.
Johnny Ray Darden, 1417 26th Ave., was arrested Wednesday in connection with a Jan. 7 incident in the 600 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Meridian Police Det. Dean Harper said.
Harper said Darden and the victim, a female, weren't related or married but did know each other. Harper said the victim was treated and released from a Meridian hospital.
In a separate case, Harper said police charged a 43-year-old Meridian man Wednesday with burglary of an occupied dwelling in the 1400 block of 35th Avenue.
Sammie L. Tubbs, 922 23rd St., remained in the county jail Thursday and also faces a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Bond for Tubbs is set at $20,000.
Harper released no further information about the two cases.
