COFFEYVILLE, Kan. Services for Raymona "Mona" Kelley Belcher will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Tyro Christian Church with the Rev. Richard Jenkins officiating. Private burial will be in Liberty Cemetery. Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Belcher, 45, of Liberty, Kan., died Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, near Lake Village, Ark.
Mona was born April 23, 1957, in Inglewood, Calif., to Robert and Barbara Green Kelley. She graduated from Meridian High School in 1975. She then became a registered nurse after earning her degree from Matty Hersee School of Nursing in Meridian.
She later earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg and a master's degree in nursing from the University of Alabama-Birmingham.
Mrs. Belcher earned a Ph.D. in exercise physiology from the University of Southern Mississippi. She later joined the Air Force Reserves as a flight nurse, while completing her Ph.D., and was called to active-duty during Desert Storm.
One Feb. 23, 1990, she married Timothy A. Belcher in Auburn, Ala. Following their marriage, the couple were missionaries in Mexico from 1991-1993. After the couple's return they settled in Mobile, Ala., where Mona was an intensive care nurse and home schooled their children while her husband completed medical school and residency. In 1999, they made their home in Liberty, Kan.
Mona was a member of First Southern Baptist Church and a leader with the youth department. She continued to teach her daughters.
Survivors include her husband, Tim and daughters, Rebekah and Sarah, all of Liberty; her mother and stepfather, Robert and Barbara Kelley of Meridian; sisters, Karla Strahan of Carriere, Miss., Deni Adkins of Scottsboro, Ala., and Robin Malone of Meridian.
The family requests memorials be made to the Mexican Indian Training Center, P.O. Box 19422, Shreveport, LA 71149.
Visitation will be Friday beginning at 7 p.m. at First Southern Baptist Church in Coffeyville.
Wright's Produce employee
PRATTVILLE, Ala. Services for Bobby Dewayne Wright were held Friday at 3 p.m. at Prattville Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Billy Walker Sr. officiating. Burial was in Prattville Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Wright, 16, of Prattville, died Tuesday, March 11, 2003, in his home. He was employed at his parent's produce company, Wright's Produce on Court Street in Montgomery, Ala. He served his customers with love and enthusiasm.
Survivors include his parents, Ricky Wright and Liz Monsour Wright of Prattville; grandmothers, Bernice Wright of Prattville and Evelyn Monsour of Meridian; a sister, Dusty M. Wright and a brother, Dale C. Wright, both of Prattville; two nephews, Dylan and Dawson Wright; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Melba Wright and Abe Monsour; and uncles, Gary Dale Wright and Ricky Monsour.
Pallbearers were Ray Ray Wright, Rodney Wright, Drew Spann, Josh Robbins, Derek Griffin, Adam Barnes and Colby.
Arrangements were incomplete at Stephens Funeral Home for Ruth Irene McKeithen Pelo Vinson, 82, of Meridian, who died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at Guardian Angel Hospice.
Arrangements were incomplete at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home for Mamie Barron of Meridian, who died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Arrangements were incomplete at Clark's Memorial Funeral Home for Annie B. Gathright, 81, of Meridian, who died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
