Services for Michael Griggs will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Latimer Metropolitan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Odell Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in Zion Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Griggs, 49, of Meridian, died Thursday, March 6, 2003, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include his mother, Everlena Griggs; a daughter, Mikea Holmes; sons, Rodricko Hill, Travis Hill, Daryl T. Johnson and Darron Jackson, all of Meridian; brothers, Charles Griggs of Los Angeles, James Griggs, Larry Griggs, David Griggs and Andre Griggs, all of Meridian; sisters, Evelyn Griggs of Jackson, Chrystal Griggs and Gladys Griggs, all of Meridian; and a special friend, Lillie Pouncy of Meridian.
He was preceded in death by Terry Hardy.
Visitation will be today 2 p.m.-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
JACKSON Services for Jessie Lee Chiles Cooper will be held today at 12:30 p.m. at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Cooper, 82, of Clinton, died Friday, March 7, 2003, at Riley Hospital in Meridian.
Survivors include her daughters, Sharon Pickering of Brandon and Kathy McClain of West Point; sons, Randell Hisaw of Meridian and Keith Cooper of Pearl; a sister, Lucille Hudgins of Jackson; brothers, James William Chiles Jr. of Clarksdale and Marion Chiles of Knoxville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pearl Lewis Cooper in 1979; and a sister, Ruby Yarbrough of Noxapater.

BUTLER, Ala. Services for Lavelle Tyson Thompson will be held today at 2 p.m. at Morgan Chapel Baptist Church with the Revs. Buddy Braddock and Dennis Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Chapel Cemetery. Bumpers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Thompson, 79, of Toxey, Ala., died Sunday, March 9, 2003, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian.
Survivors include her husband, Lorenzo O. Thompson of Toxey; a son, Jimmy Thompson of Butler; a daughter, Patricia Cave of Toxey; a sister, Edna Lucas; brothers, Robert Tyson, Milton Tyson and Paul Tyson, all of Toxey; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Wayne Thompson.
GILBERTOWN, Ala. Services for Kenneth Edward "Juke" Thompson will be held today at 2 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Fred Donovan and Rodney Mullins officiating. Burial will be in Mosley Cemetery in Gilbertown.
Mr. Thompson, 61, of Toxey, died Sunday, March 9, 2003, in Waynesboro.
Survivors include his mother, Susan Lucille Boykin Thompson of Wimberly, Ala.; a daughter, Stacy T. Bonner and her husband, Danny, of Toxey; brothers, Jimmy Thompson of Colorado Springs, Colo., Tommy Thompson of Biloxi and Mertie Thompson of Bear Creek, Ala.; sisters, Betty Newton of Toxey and Fay Mosley of Gilbertown; and one grandchild.

Memorial services for Thellis K. Harvey will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church with the Rev. Vicki Landrum officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery at a later date. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Harvey, 80, of Meridian, died Monday, March 10, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church and a retired secretary for GM &O Railroad. She was a world traveler and a self professed anglofile, "lover of all things English."
Survivors include her husband, James W. Harvey of Meridian; a daughter, Susanne Johnson and her husband, Bill, of Meridian; sons, David Jaqua and his wife, Joy, of Memphis, Tenn., and Jimmy Harvey and his wife, Beth, of Meridian; brothers, Frank Knight and Raymond Knight, both of Memphis, and Danny Knight of Meridian; five grandchildren, Paul Johnson, Susanna Johnson, Lacy Johnson, Allyn Jaqua and Ben Jaqua; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Wesley House of Meridian.
