Seven locals picked for MPSA All-Star Games

The annual MPSA All-Star Basketball Games are set for Friday at A.E. Wood Coliseum on the Mississippi College campus in Clinton.
Four games are on the agenda this year with the smaller two classes paired off for the afternoon contests, and the Class AAA athletes will compete in the late games.
The Class A-AA girls' game is scheduled for 2 p.m.
Area participants are Meagan Stokes of Central Academy in Macon, Megan Whitaker of Kemper Academy and Suzanne Lightsey of Heidelberg Academy. All three will be on the North squad.
Other players of note on the North team include Natalie Ellington and Krystal James of Academy Overall runner-up Strider Academy.
The South A-AA roster includes Katie Ebey, Renalda Stafford, and Sally Powell of Overall champion Riverdale Academy and Anna Gatlin of AA state champion Brookhaven Academy.
The A-AA boys' contest is set for 3:30 p.m.
Blake Bass of Heidelberg Academy, Allen Byrd of Leake Academy and Joe Buck Peterson of Winston Academy will all be playing for the North.
Also on the North team is Michael Roy of Class A state champion Delta Academy.
The South squad has Craig Smith of AA state champion Brookhaven Academy.
The AAA girls' game is slated for 5:30 p.m., with the AAA boys' matchup to follow at 7 p.m.
The lone area representative in either game is Lamar's Jace Hill, who will be playing for the North boys.
Walker Moller, Wes Burleson and Chris Posey of Overall champion Hillcrest Christian are on the South roster, along with Wesley Mockbee, Kirk McRee and Walker Shields of Overall runner-up Jackson Prep.
Members of the girls' AAA South team include Lauren Wade, Lori Harris and Laurel Miller of Overall semifinalist Jackson Prep.
Admission for all four games is $7.
