A United Airlines Boeing 757 was airborne again Wednesday a few hours after the pilot made an emergency landing at Key Field.
Tom Williams, Meridian Regional Airport Authority president, said Flight 275 from Orlando to San Francisco resumed at about 11 a.m.
The pilot landed the plane after reporting a possible fire in the aircraft's wheel well. Williams said a faulty sensor apparently caused an alarm to activate in the plane.
Williams said about 90 passengers on the flight remained relaxed during their wait at the airport terminal. "Everybody was easy to get along with and cooperative," he said. "It turned out really good."
