Clayton Logan of Meridian has been selected to participate in the National Youth Leadership Forum on Defense, Intelligence and Diplomacy Feb. 25 to March 2 in Washington.
Logan will join about 400 outstanding high school juniors and seniors from across America at the forum. Logan, the son of Keith and Elizabeth Logan, is a senior at West Lauderdale High School.
Logan is a member of the National Honor Society, the National Society of High School Scholars, Who's Who Among American High School Students and West Lauderdale's soccer team.
He was a 2002 representative to American Legion Boy's State. He also is a member of the Episcopal Church of the Mediator.
The forum is a nonpartisan, nonprofit educational organization that sponsors highly specialized career-oriented programs for high school students who show leadership potential.
Six Lauderdale County students were named to the Mississippi College dean's list for the fall 2002 semester.
The students are Samantha Diane Davidson, April Teresa Hand and Carrie Elizabeth Jones, all of Meridian; Christopher Ryan Knight and Daniel Wade Watson, both of Toomsuba; and Mindy Brooke Espey of Collinsville.
In order to be eligible for the dean's list, a student must maintain at least a 3.5 grade point average based on a 4.0 system.
Four Lauderdale County students were named to the Mississippi College president's list for the fall 2002 semester.
The students are Dustin Craig Hedgpeth, Kristen Paige Johnson and Rebecca Sara-Nell McCarthy of Meridian. Also named was Justin Alan Qualls of Lauderdale.
In order to be eligible for the president's list, a student must maintain a 4.0 grade point average based on a 4.0 system.
The following students were named to Mississippi State University dean's list for the fall 2002 semester. In order to be eligible for the dean's list, students must achieve a grade point average between 3.5 and 3.79 based on a 4.0 scale.
