Cleo Harbour Hyatt
ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. Services for Cleo Harbour Hyatt will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at First Christian Church in Meridian, Miss., with the Rev. Dr. Tom Sikes officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery with Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hyatt, 92, of Johnson City, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at her home. She was a native of Neshoba County, Miss. and was the daughter of the late Dudley and Luna Mae Tucker Harbour.
Mrs. Hyatt was a member of the First Christian Church of Meridian, where she lived most of her life before moving to Johnson City in 1998.
Survivors include her daughter, Lanelle Hyatt Crockett and her husband, Dr. John Crockett III, of Elizabethton; a son, Wayne Hyatt and his wife, Vera, of Memphis; a sister, Pauline Sanders of Winter Springs, Fla., formerly of Meridian; a brother, Levie D. Harbour of San Antonio; a grandson, John R. "Jay" Crockett IV, of Elizabethton; a daughter-in-law, Marian Hyatt of San Antonio; four step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cliff E. Hyatt Sr., who died Dec. 8, 1989, and a step-son, Cliff E. Hyatt Jr., who died in 1997.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in memory of Mrs. Hyatt to the First United Methodist Church at 325 East E. Street, Elizabethton, TN 37643; or to Medical Center Hospice Services at 1807 West Market Street, Johnson City, TN 37604. Fred A. Moore
Retired businessman
MORTON Services for Fred A. Moore were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church. Burial was in Springfield Cemetery with Ott &Lee Funeral Home, Inc. in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Moore, 85, of Morton, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at Claiborne County Nursing Home at Port Gibson. He was a native of the Crossroads Community in Rankin County and had been a resident of Morton for more than 50 years.
Mr. Moore was a business owner and operated the Fred Moore Co. which consisted of poultry, cattle and real estate prior to retiring. He helped organize and was a charter member of the Citizens Bank and Trust Co. in Morton, and served on the board of directors. He also served on the board of directors of the Ross Barnett Reservoir Association, representing Scott County in the planning and development of the reservoir.
Mr. Moore also served on the board of directors in the planning and development of the Scott County Hospital in Morton, served as a trustee on the board of Clarke College at Newton, was past president of Mississippi Cattlemans Association, served on the advisory board of the National Cattlemans Association, past president of the Mississippi Poultry Association and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Moore was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Morton and served as a deacon for many years, was active in church affairs, taught Sunday School, and was the Association Sunday School director. He was a very loving and caring person to everyone who knew him.
Survivors include a son, Duaine Moore and his wife, Judy, of Port Gibson; daughters, Susan Keen and her husband, Dr. Jack, of Fort Worth, Texas; and Elizabeth Carleton and her husband, Wayne, of Union; a sister, Jewel Harper of Pascagoula; a brother, Alvyn Moore of Union; a sister-in-law, Camille Stegall Austin of San Antonio; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
