St. Patrick Catholic School in Meridian will join more than 8,000 other schools to celebrate Catholic Schools Week beginning Saturday.
St. Patrick students have been preparing for this year's celebration, which has the theme "Making a World of Difference."
The school will host several events for the public, including a career fair on Tuesday in which Meridian residents and Catholic school alumni will give students career advice.
On Wednesday, the school will raise a new flag that was donated by U.S. Rep. Chip Pickering. The flag flew over the U.S. Capitol.
The school is multi-denominational and multi-cultural. People of all faiths are welcome.
Timmons said she believes parents choose St. Patrick for the learning environment: it has a small student-teacher ratio and focuses on spiritual growth, morals, and values.
