Meridian takes win at tourney

The Meridian High Wildcats defeated Louisville 81-47 on Thursday night in the opening round of the Aberdeen Tournament.
Meridian improves to 9-9 with the win.
Cornelius Miles led the Wildcats with 17 points. Maurice Naylor had 16 points and Zack Komisar added nine points.
Meridian led 45-17 at the half.
Louisville was led by Andre Coleman with 19 points.
Sumter Aca. boys 64
Southern 39
Sumter Academy defeated Southern 64-39 to pick up its 13th straight victory on Thursday night.
The Eagles are now 13-2 on the season going into Saturday afternoon's home game against Tuscaloosa Academy.
Sumter led 42-19 at the half.
Chase Schroeder led Sumter with 16 points. J.D. Todd had 14 points and Wayne Malone added eight points.
Clarkdale soccer 4
SE Lauderdale 0
Clarkdale took a division win in soccer action on Thursday night beating Southeast Lauderdale 4-0.
Scoring goals for the Bulldogs were David Prewitt, Jonathan Pickett, William Clinton and Tyler Swanner.
Justin Culpepper had one assist.
Clarkdale will host a key soccer match on Monday night taking on defending South State 3A champion West Lauderdale in a rematch of the 3A South State Championship played last year.
