David W. Giles
Retired vice president
of sales at Smith Bakery
Services for David W. Giles will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Steve Jordan and Jack O. Giles officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Meridian.
Mr. Giles, 68, of Meridian, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at his residence. He was retired vice president of sales for Smith Bakery and member and chairman of deacons of First Baptist Church of Marion. He was a former resident of Hattiesburg.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce B. Giles of Meridian; a daughter, Belinda Hutsenpiller, and her husband, William, both of Virginia Beach, Va.; a son, Bryan Giles, and his wife, Rebecca, both of Mobile, Ala.; a daughter, Vickye Burt of Meridian; two grandchildren, Whitney Hutsenpiller of Virginia Beach and Jay Giles of Mobile; a sister, Willie Mae Falcon of El Paso, Texas; and a brother, the Rev. Jack O. Giles of Meridian.
Visitation will be today from 3 p.m.-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
All deacons of First Baptist Church of Marion will serve as pallbearers.
The Rev. Scott Phillips
Retired from Coca-Cola Bottling Co.
Services for the Rev. Scott Phillips will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home with the Revs. Timothy Thompson and J.T. McKenzie officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery.
Rev. Phillips, 53, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was retired from Coca-Cola Bottling Co.
Survivors include a daughter, Robin Chaney of Memphis, Tenn.; six sisters, Vernell McWilliams of Moss Point, and Lucy Phillips, Fannie Phillips, Annie Mae Phillips, Edna Watson and Annie K. McShan, all of Meridian; and two brothers, John Phillips and Moody Phillips Jr., both of Meridian.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Monday from 7 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
