MACON Services for Dean Ethridge will be held today at 1 p.m. at Mashulaville Baptist Church in Macon with the Rev. Sterling Davis officiating. Burial will be in Mashulaville Cemetery in Macon. Cockrell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Ethridge, 92, of Macon, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, at Noxubee General Hospital in Macon.
Survivors include her daughter, Sarah Nelson of Macon; a son, Billy Ethridge of Bellvue, Neb.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lucille Aycock of West Point.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George C. Ethridge.
Memorials may be made to Westside Baptist Church.

BUTLER, Ala. Services for Clifford Otto Rudder Sr. will be held today at 1 p.m. at Brightwater Methodist Church with the Revs. Josh Fulford and Doug Fulford officiating. Burial will be in the Brightwater Cemetery in the Brightwater Community.
Mr. Rudder, 85, of Hattiesburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, in Hattiesburg.
Survivors include his son, Clifford O. Rudder Jr. of Hattiesburg; daughters Lu Ann Hill of Kiln, Beverly C. Rudder of Mobile, Ala., and Jane Fulford of Mobile, Ala.; and a sister, Elizabeth R. Whittington of Toxey, Ala.; and 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today one hour prior to the service at the church.

DEKALB Services for Nick D. "Bird" Naylor will be held today at 2 p.m. at Mendon Zion Primitive Baptist Church in Porterville with the Rev. Chris Parker officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hebron Church Cemetery in Porterville. E.E. McDonald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Naylor, 23, of Porterville, died Jan. 9, 2003, in Porterville.
Survivors include his parents, Rita Naylor and K.C. Naylor; four sisters, Samantha, Dana, Lequicha and Camonica Naylor; brothers, Allen, Stephen, and Cedric Naylor, all of Porterville; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and uncles.

Services for James Lewis Joyner Sr. will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Johnny Smith and Sarita Rainey officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Joyner, 72, of Toomsuba, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a retired minister and paint contractor. He was also an Army veteran and an avid race fan.
Survivors include six sons, James L. Joyner Jr. and his wife, Paula, of Meridian, Clifford D. Joyner and his wife, Betty, of Little Rock, Chester Lynn Joyner of Meridian, Timothy Paul Joyner and his wife, Kathy, of Honolulu, Mark Eldon Joyner and his wife, Stephanie, of Meridian, and Jamie Lynn Joyner of Toomsuba; the mothers of his children, Ruth Baughman, Priscilla Baygents and Carol Ann Almond; two brothers, L.D. Joyner of Meridian and Luther Joyner of Texas; two sisters, Mavis Guston and Sarah Smith, both of Meridian; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, David Parish Joyner.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be James L. Joyner Jr., Chester Lynn Joyner, Timothy Paul Joyner, Mark Eldon Joyner, Jamie Lynn Joyner and Herbert Joyner.
BETTY JANE SLAUGHTER LOPER

Services for Betty Jane Slaughter Loper will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Chris Winkleman and Mike Everett officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mrs. Loper, 74, of Meridian, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at Guardian Angel Hospice.
Survivors include her husband, Russell Loper of Meridian; daughters Cynthia Castle Collins of West Chester, Pa., and Carolyn Castle Havert of Yucaipa, Calif.; two grandchildren, Jonathan Todd Mills of San Antonio, Texas, and Sara Elizabeth Mills of Fullerton, Calif.; and three great-grandchildren, Britni Mills, Blake Mills and Erika Mills.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Bessie Heidelberg Slaughter and her father, James Martin Slaughter Jr.
Memorials may be made to New Hope Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Monday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
PATSY EAKES BARRIE

PHILADELPHIA Services for Patsy Eakes Barrie will be held Monday at 12:30 p.m. at Spring Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Barnett and Stanley Barnett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. McClain-Hays Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Barrie, 67, of Niskayuna, N.Y., formerly of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, at her home. She was born and raised in Mississippi and was a graduate of Longino High School and Jackson Business School. After moving to New York, she was employed with General Electric Company in Schenectady, N.Y., from 1955 to 1965. She was a homemaker for 15 years, and from 1980 to 2000, she was employed by New York State Department of Labor, before retiring.
She loved flowers, enjoyed gardening and quilting. She also enjoyed summers, camping at her house in Scroon Lake.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Keith Barrie; a son, Stephen Barrie and his wife, Gina, of Whitesboro, N.Y.; daughter Michele Shevlin and her husband, Chris, of Seneca Falls, N.Y.; and grandchildren Stephen Barrie Jr. and Tyler Barrie of Whitesboro; a sister, Sandra Meacham of Brookhaven; and brothers Marzine Eakes of Jackson, Tommy Eakes of Brookhaven and Mike Eakes of Philadelphia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Nellie McAdory Eakes.
Visitation will be 10 a.m.-noon Monday at the funeral home.

Services for David Giles will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Giles, 68, of Meridian, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at his residence.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m.-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
