Southeast Tigers upset Knights, 81-70

The Southeast Tigers upset 15th ranked West Lauderdale 81-70 on Tuesday night at Southeast.
The Tigers took a 17-point lead against and then held on for the 11-point win. Southeast, who won the Enterprise Tournament, has won four straight and improves to 11-7 on the season.
West Lauderdale, whose only other loss was to 5th ranked Hattiesburg at the Hattiesburg Tourney, falls to 16-2.
Southeast led 18-17 after one quarter and 36-33 at the half. The Tigers used a 24-15 third quarter to go up 60-48. Then in the fourth, Southeast took its biggest lead at 17 points before the Knights chipped away but fell by 11.
Nehemiah Nwankpah led Southeast with 25 points. Chris Gordon added 14 and B.B. Brassfield chipped in 12. Alex West and Windham Campbell each had eight.
West Lauderdale was led by Calvin Moore and Scott Grady with 13 points each. Karlos Lewis and Boo Ramsey each had 12. Andrew Ramsey added nine.
NE Lauderdale girls 51
Kemper County 32
The Northeast Lauderdale Lady Trojans evened their record at 8-8 with a 51-32 rout of Kemper County on Tuesday night at Northeast.
Quinn Jackson led the Lady Trojans with 23 points. Crystal Hopson had 11,
Melodie Mave led Kemper with 10 points.
Northeast led at the half 22-11.
NE Lauderdale boys 85
Kemper County 77
Dekino Winston tossed in a game high 28 points to lead the Northeast Lauderdale Trojans past Kemper County 85-77 on Tuesday night.
The win moves the Trojans to 8-9 on the season.
Marcus Betts aided Winston with 23 points. Kalani White had 13 points.
Terrance Westerfield led the Wildcats with 21 points and Omarion Backstrom tossed in 19 points.
The Trojans led 42-27 at the half. It was 62-48 after three quarters.
Northeast's next action comes Friday in the Sam Dale Conference Tournament at Southeast Lauderdale. The Trojans and Lady Trojans will take on Division 5-4A rival Quitman in the first round on Friday afternoon.
Clarkdale girls 60
South Leake 58
Clarkdale built on its near overtime decision with 13th ranked Long Beach by gaining a key Division 5-2A win on the road Tuesday night.
Clarkdale beat South Leake 60-58 behind 28 points Danielle Gaddis. Felicia Kirksey chipped in 17.
Tierra Young led South Leake with 24 points. Tiffany Jackson had 12.
The Lady Bulldogs trailed 28-26 at the half. They used a 17-12 third quarter to grab the lead at 43-40.
South Leake boys 62
Clarkdale boys 51
South Leake knocked off Clarkdale 62-51 on Tuesday in Division 5-2A action.
Clarkdale trailed 27-19 at the half. It was 39-33 after three quarters.
Brandon Mabry and Rocky Kirksey each had 12 points to lead Clarkdale.
Shannon Hendley added 11.
D'Anthony Ealy led South Leake with 13. Trey Luckett had 11.
Patrician girls 46
Sumter Academy 32
Patrician Academy improved to 4-7 with the 46-32 win over Sumter Academy Tuesday night in Butler, Ala.
Kristen Andrews led Patrician with 14 points, four assists and four steals. Leslie Goodman had five points and 11 rebounds. Jess Chambliss tossed in 10 points.
Sumter falls to 5-6.

Patrician 44
Sumter Academy improved to 7-5 with a 51-44 win over Patrician Academy in boys' basketball on Tuesday night.
Chase Schroeder had 19 points to lead the Eagles while Wayne Malone added 16.
Russell Cheatham and Travis Abate scored 12 points each to lead the Saints.
Roel Bekkers had 10 points, 10 assists and 9 steals in the game.
Patrician Academy will be in action again on Thursday night when it travels to play Wilcox.
