Two dead in car accident

Joshua M. Steel, 25, of Memphis, Tenn., and Kelly B. Anderson, 29, of Bartlett, Tenn., died Tuesday night in a one-car accident on Highway 45, one mile north of Meridian, said Sgt. Ronnie Carter, Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman.
Carter said officers Mike Kain and Johnny Knox responded to a call at 7:58 p.m. that a 2002 Chevrolet ran off the road and overturned. Steel and Anderson were passengers in the car.
The driver, Mary E. Gibson, 28, of Memphis, was taken to Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. Another passenger, Dennis Demry, 23, of Memphis, was taken to University Medical Center.
The extent of their injuries was unknown. MHP is investigating the accident.
