Vina 7th grader finishes 2nd in state 3200M race

Vina 7th grader finishes 2nd in state 3200M race

Vina seventh grader Lindie Easterling finished second in the Class 1A state 3200 meter run (2-mile).

Easterling finished a distant second to Kaylie Key of Athens Bible, who ran a top time of 12:09.02. Easterling ran a 13:16.71 just edging out Anne Claire Mitchell from Faith Christian, who ran a 13:17.48.

Vina’s 4×100 relay team finished 14th in the state. That team consisted of Layla Hester, Makenzie Elrod, Kylie Lucas and Olivia Crum.

In the girls 100 hurdles, Samantha Elders finished 16th and Makenzie Elrod finished 18th.

For the Vina boys team, Christian McCarley finished 20th in the 1600 meters, Cai Lawler finished 15th in triple jump, ninth in the 300 hurdles and 15th in the 110 hurdles.
