RHS golf team lacks experience, not desire

The Russellville boys golf team is an inexperienced group that is hungry to get better and compete. They are working to improve and to be their best when sectional play arrives in late April.

The Golden Tigers compete in Class 5A Section 4 along with Arab, Ardmore, Boaz, Brewer, Douglas, East Limestone, Fairview, Guntersville, Lawrence County, Priceville, Sardis, Scottsboro and West Point.

Q&A with Coach Patrick Odom What are some of the strengths of this year’s team?

“We have a great group of kids who are working really hard.”

Who are the leaders on your team this season?

“Parker Odom is our No. 1 and our only guy that has high school golf experience, but our other guys are working hard and getting better.”

What are some of your team’s goals for the season?

“Our goals are always to get better every day and be ready for sectionals to compete for a chance at sub-state and state.”
