Red Bay sweeps doubleheader
The Red Bay Tigers claimed victories over Phil Campbell and Belmont over the weekend. The Tigers displayed both offensive power and solid pitching to earn the two wins.
In a hard-fought contest, Red Bay jumped out to an early 5-0 lead over Phil Campbell after three innings. However, Phil Campbell battled back, narrowing the gap to 5-4 in the fourth. Red Bay’s offense proved crucial, as it tallied six runs on nine hits, including five extrabase hits. Ty Reynolds delivered a crucial two-run home run in the second inning. Jeremiah Thorne contributed two doubles, while Carson McGee and Dallas Terrell each added a double.
On the mound, Jeremiah Thorne earned the win, pitching four innings, allowing four runs on three hits, and striking out seven. Carson McGee closed out the game, securing the save with four strikeouts.
For Phil Campbell, Chandler Benford drove in two runs.
The Tigers continued their winning streak against Belmont, securing a decisive 12-3 victory.
Ayden Pruitt delivered a strong performance on the mound, earning the win by allowing three runs on four hits and striking out six.
O f f e n s i v e l y, Reynolds had a standout game, hitting two doubles and a single, driving in a run, and scoring twice. McGee contributed two hits and three RBI, while Thorne added two RBI and scored two runs.
