Hodges parole hearing Thursday
MONTGOMERY — An inmate with a history of theft-related convictions who is serving a 10-year sentence stemming from a Russellville arrest is up for parole this week, authorities said. The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles were set to consider parole for David Bryan Hodges, 46, on Thursday, according to Jakiya Dudley, media specialist for the Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Paroles.
Parole decisions are not immediately released until they are certified.
Court records indicate Hodges’ conviction is connected to a breakin at a Russellville feed store.
He had been charged with third-degree burglary and second-degree theft of property in the case but pleaded to second- degree receiving stolen property in exchange for a 10-year sentence, according to court records.
Hodges, who is in the Kilby Correctional Facility, has served 3 years, 4 months and 27 days, according to the Alabama Department of Corrections.
In his plea agreement, Hodges stipulated to the fact that he had 11 previous convictions in northwest Alabama.
Those include a 2018 third-degree burglary conviction in Franklin County and 2017 thirddegree theft of property conviction in Colbert County, according to corrections records. He was sentenced to 10 years and 3 months in those convictions and was released after 2 years, 5 months and seven days.
His other convictions were in Colbert, Lauderdale and Lawrence counties, according to records. Hodges served 9 years, 7 months and 7 days of a 23-year sentence in cases that occurred in 2009 and 2010. In those cases, he was found guilty of two counts of second-degree theft of property, two counts of second-degree receiving stolen property, and one count each of third-degree burglary, first-degree theft of property, and possession of burglary tools.
In 2008, he was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months on a Colbert County conviction of second-degree theft of property. He served the full sentence, according to records.
In 2007, he served a 9-month sentence on a Lauderdale County conviction of third-degree burglary.
