Ivey issues proclamation designating state of emergency
Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey issued a proclamation Jan. 9 designating a state of emergency to exist for the following counties, in addition to Franklin County, effective as of 1 p.m. on Jan. 9: Bibb, Blount, Calhoun, Chambers, Cherokee, Chilton, Clay, Cleburne, Colbert, Coosa, Cullman, DeKalb, Elmore, Etowah, Fayette,Jackson,Jefferson, Lamar, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Lee, Limestone, Macon, Madison, Marion, Marshall, Morgan, Pickens, Randolph, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega, Tallapoosa, Tuscaloosa, Walker and Winston.
The proclamation addressed the activation of the Alabama National Guard and other state agencies, as well as price gouging, federal motor-carrier regulations, transportation of emergency equipment, supplies, etc., state government office closings and school closings.
