Phil Campbell basketball teams pick up pair of area wins

The Phil Campbell Bobcats picked up a pair of area wins last week beating Colbert Heights 46-33 and Colbert County 42-33.

Against Colbert Heights, the Bobcats held a slim 8-7 lead at the end of the first quarter. Hannah Welborn scored eight of Phil Campbell’s 13 second quarter points as the Bobcats took a 21-17 halftime lead.

Phil Campbell gave themselves some room to breathe in the third quarter, outscoring the Wildcats 19-9. Macy Hardy scored eight of the Bobcats 19 points in the third quarter. The Bobcats held onto to the lead in the fourth quarter to seal the win.

Welborn led Phil Campbell with 18 points. Hardy and Leela Baker followed with 10 points each. Mia Ambrosio and Sidda Rogers added four points each.

Phil Campbell’s game with Colbert County ended with the Bobcats winning 42-33.

Colbert County led Phil Campbell 5-4 at the end of the first quarter, but the Bobcats took a 13-9 lead into the halftime locker room. As in the Colbert Heights game, the Bobcats came out of halftime hot, outscoring the Indians 19-6 to take a 32-15 lead.

Hardy led Phil Campbell with 18 points, followed by Welborn with 17 points and Baker with 10 points. Ambrosio added two points.
