Bobcats get area win over CH Wildcats

Brett Saint scored 17 points to help lead the Phil Campbell Bobcats to a big 51-42 area win over Colbert Heights Jan. 6.

It was the Bobcats’ first game in more than two week, but there didn’t appear to be any sluggishness as they raced out to an 11-2 first quarter lead. Phil Campbell led Colbert Heights 26-15 at the break.

Colbert Heights’ Carson Shaw heated up in the third quarter, scoring 13 points and helping the Wildcats outpace the Bobcats 20-8 and take a 35-34 lead into the fourth quarter.

Luke Garrison took over for Phil Campbell in the fourth quarter, scoring nine of his 11 points and helping the Bobcats get the win.

Others scoring for Phil Campbell were Dylan Jeane with eight points, Blaine Goodson with seven points, Jonah Fisher with five points, Canaan Clay with two points and Ben Williams with one point.

GIRLS

Phil Campbell 69, West Limestone 49

Kallie Allen scored a season-high 30 points to lead the Phil Campbell Bobcats to a 69-49 win over West Limestone during holiday basketball action.

Phil Campbell used a strong first quarter to take control of the game, outscoring West Limestone 19-3. West Limestone had cut the Bobcats’ lead to 51-42 at the end of the third quarter, but Phil Campbell pulled away in the fourth.

Caitlyn Mills added 17points for the Bobcats.
