Doris Marie McCarver Colburn

Doris Marie McCarver Colburn, age 81, of Russellville, passed away March 11 at Russellville Healthcare.

Doris was the rock of our family, always the caregiver and always having an open door to her family and friends. She loved her husband, children and especially her grandchildren. She was a faithful member of North Russellville Baptist Church until her health wouldn’t let her attend. She was loved by everyone who knew her and will be missed by all. She leaves quite a legacy of love and kindness for her family.

The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. March 13 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. March 14 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Mark Daniel and Bro. Thomas Thornton officiating. Burial will be at Knights of Pythias Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Dewey Colburn; daughter, Janet Colburn; parents, Eugene and Edna (Hyde) McCarver; brother, Cecil McCarver; and sister, Catherine Willis.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Sandra Parker, Lesa Ewing (husband, Mike), Randy Colburn and Scott Colburn (wife, Renee); grandchildren, Pam King (Bud), Kari Zills, Lindsey Marshall (Wesley), Derryl Collett (Gantt), Colby Colburn (Rebecca), Becca Way (Jerry), Michelle Fielder, Morgan Young, Chrysthan Young, Ben Colburn and Zakery Colburn; great-grandchildren, Brianna Chaney, Ashlee Chaney, Addyson Mims, Rachel Hilding, Lauren Hilding, Ava Fielder, Liam Fielder and Moxton Marshall; soon-to-arrive great-great-granddaughter, Ella Marie Risley; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The pallbearers will be Wesley Marshall, Gantt Collett, Greg Hester, Dwain Hester, Bud King and Thomas Uptain.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Kevin Kelly and his staff, as well as to the staff of Russellville Health Care, and to our friends at North Russellville Baptist for your love, care and many prayers.

Spry Memorial Chapel is assisting the family. To leave private condolences, please visit our website at www.sprymemorialchapel.com.
