Doris Ann Bishop

Doris Ann Bishop, 73, passed away Nov. 16 at Southern Magnolia in Golden. She was born in Franklin County to Walter G. and Mary Helen Miller Bishop. She graduated from UNA with a Bachelor of Science degree. She worked as an interior designer for Sunshine Homes for 43 years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Red Bay.

Funeral services will be Nov. 19 at 11 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with the Rev. Yohan Hong and Rocky Rockhill officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in East Franklin. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, will be in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by two sisters, Mary Bishop Mills of Red Bay and Mattie Bishop Tucker (Sam) of Jasper; one brother, William E. Bishop Sr. (Barbara) of Russellville; nieces and nephews, Debbie Tucker Segars (Chris), Chris Tucker (Amy), Bill Bishop (Leah), Diann Nichols (Donnie) and Leann Mills Markham; special great-nephew, Mason Nichols; 11 great nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Tammie Elam of Florence.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents, Earl and Hudie Miller and W.A. and Della Bishop; and a brother-in-law, G.A. Mills Jr.

Pallbearers will be Bill Bishop, Donnie Nichols, Chris Segars, Chris Tucker, Bill Nabors and Spencer Markham.

Visitation will be Nov. 18, 6-8 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 126, Red Bay, AL 35582 or to the American Cancer Society.
