RCS hosts alumni cheer night

Oct. 5 is going to be a night to remember for Russellville cheerleaders, past and present. It will be the first-ever Russellville Golden Tiger Alumni Cheerleading Night.

Coach Stephanie Mayfield and current cheerleaders are inviting all former RCS cheerleaders to join them on the field that night before the ballgame and participate in a cheer and dance. Alumni cheerleaders will also be invited to cheer during the third quarter of the game.

“This is really going to be a memorable night for the girls. It will be the first time any of them have cheered together on the field,” Mayfield said.

There will be two practice days, Oct. 2 and Oct. 4 from 3-6 p.m. in the RHS gymnasium, where the cheerleaders will learn a cheer and a dance to perform Friday night at the home game against Lawrence County. A reception will follow the Oct. 4 practice in the gymnasium.

Registration forms need to be turned in by Sept. 28 to order T-shirts on time. Cost is $25 to register and includes admission to the game, a T-shirt and a donation to the cheerleading program.

For more information contact Mayfield at 256-810-7067.
