Annie Marie Garrison

Annie Marie Garrison, 79, of Phil Campbell, passed away Sept. 20 at her residence.

Visitation will be Sept. 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Akins Funeral Home, Russellville. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Akins Funeral Home with Bro. Woodrow Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Blue Springs Cemetery.

Marie was a cherished mother and grandmother. She was devoted to her family, enjoyed hard work and loved Elvis. She stayed home to care of her children and grandchildren until they started school. She was a seamstress for the first part of her life and later retired from Golden Poultry. She had a green thumb and could make any plant grow and flourish. She loved to give gifts to her family, to go fishing and to go to yard sales and flea markets. She will be missed by all those who loved her.

Marie was born at home in Hodges July 4, 1939, to Willie and Annie Scott.

She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Elgin “Spud” Garrison; her parents; her daughter Lisa Irene Garrison; her brothers, Odell “Buddy” Scott and Tommy Scott; and her sisters Dorothy Lawler, Willie Mae Pettus, Louise Stephens and Phyllis Agee.

Mrs. Garrison is survived by her children and their spouses, Anna Maria Pierce and Donald Pierce, Royce Dale Garrison, Heath Mackenzie Garrison and Daniele; her grandchildren, Stacey Stanford, Scott Pierce, Brandon Garrison, Brittany Garrison, Jannabeth Garrison and Jessie Garrison; and her great-grandchildren, Atticus Garrison and Dalton Penny.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Garrison, Royce Garrison, Heath Garrison, Scott Pierce, Landon Hutcheson and Jim Brown.
