Rosa Malinda Howard

Rosa Malinda Howard, age 49, of Florence, passed away Sept. 3 at Helen Keller Hospital.

Malinda was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her.

The visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sept. 6 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Sept. 7 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Jim Lumpkin officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery.

She is survived by her children, Ashley Parrish (Matthew), Amber Graham (Daniel) and Jared Howard (Katie); grandchildren, Laina, Hannah, Timothy, Sophia, Mattie and Kamdyne; father, Dewey Grimes; step-father, Danny Tompkins; siblings, Ray Benstine, Earl Benstine, Gerald Benstine, Angela Mitchell and Dennis Tompkins; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Rosa Darlene Tompkins; grandparents, Roy (Sr.) and Rosey Colburn; and uncle, Roy Colburn Jr.

The pallbearers will be Tim Cosby, Earl Benstine, Ray Benstine, Dillian Mitchell, Eathan Hunter and Daniel Granillo. The honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Parrish and Daniel Graham.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and doctors at Helen Keller Hospital and to all of our family and friends for your prayers and support.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to the funeral expense of Malinda, c/o Spry Memorial Chapel, PO Box 246, Russellville, AL 35653.
