Franklin native magician Steve Trash visits Belgreen

Magician Steve Trash came to Belgreen School’s auditorium and delivered two applause-filled performances for students, parents and teachers who attended the events.

The Franklin County Extension System, Belgreen School and State Rep. Johnny Mack Morrow sponsored the fun, educational shows.

Trash is from Franklin County – Frog Pond to be exact – and Morrow said he has known Trash for a long time.

“He means so much to our community, and I’m so proud to be here with him this morning,” Morrow said.

Trash’s hour-long show featured magic tricks that Trash infused with valuable lessons.

He emphasized the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling to limit negative impact on the plant, and he gave examples of what items can and cannot be recycled.

Trash explained the water cycle and how nature recycles the water on Earth. He also explained how human and plant life is connected through the transference of oxygen and carbon dioxide.

“The show is put together very well. He creates different ways to make you think about recycling,” Extension Director Katernia Cole-Coffey said.

Students from all over Franklin County attended the performances.
