Russellville cheerleaders win big at AU

The Russellville varsity cheerleaders had a successful summer camp at Auburn University this summer, according to Coach Stephanie Mayfield.

The Lady Golden Tigers brought back several awards individually and as a group.

“I’m so proud of them. Everything they learned, we’re bringing back to the school,” Mayfield said.

Mayfield said three Russellville seniors received UCA All American and UCA Staff Invitations: Peyton Reynolds, Morgan Moon and Addie Scruggs. Addie Scruggs also received the Pin It Forward Award.

The team placed first in the Rally Extreme Routine, Sideline Cheer and Overall Game Day Camp Champs. The Lady Golden Tigers also placed second in cheer.

Additionally, the team received three Gold Superior Ribbons and the Spirit Stick each day. The squad credentialed and completed all of their training.

Champ mascot Jax Greenhill was awarded the Mascot Spirit Ball and Trophy for Superior Mascot and UCA All American Mascot.
