THS, PCHS wrap seasons

Tharptown

Olivia Ergle struck out 11 batters in an 8-2 regional opening win against Athens Bible Thursday morning. The Lady Wildcats, however, lost two straight to end their season – a 5-4 loss to Waterloo and a 15-0 loss to Skyline.

Ergle allowed only four hits to Athens Bible and issued only one walk.

Catie Dawson led the Wildcats, going 3-for-4 with a double, and scored two runs. Brooke Daily also went 3-for-4, scoring a run.

Madison Vandiver went 2-for-4 and scored a run. Shaylee Wieting went 1-for-3 with a double and scored a run.

In the loss to Waterloo, Ergle allowed only two earned runs, struck out eight and walked two batters.

Ameliah Dawson led Tharptown, going 3-for-3 with a two-RBI double. Ergle and Brook Daily went 2-for-4.

The Phil Campbell Lady Bobcats managed to pile up 23 wins this year, but their season came to an abrupt halt in the 2A North Regional with losses to Hatton, 17-2, and Falkville, 12-8.

In the loss to Falkville, Kenner Scott went 3-for-3 with three doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored. Katie Thomas went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.

Leeah Jackson went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Abby Davis went 2-for-4 and scored two runs.

In the loss to Hatton, Scott doubled and scored a run. Chloe Roberson went 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Thomas scored a run.
