Bobcats softball grabs area win

The Phil Campbell Lady Bobcats defeated the Sulligent Blue Devils 12-4 during Spring Break week.
The Bobcats used an eight-run second inning to power past the Blue Devils for the area win.
Phil Campbell jumped on Sulligent right off the bat with a four-run first inning. The Bobcats got their first runs on a two-RBI double by Katie Thomas scoring Leeah Jackson and Kenner Scott. An RBI single by Harley Cummings scored two more Lady Bobcats.
Sulligent scored two runs in the top of the second inning to cut Phil Campbell’s lead to 4-2.
The Bobcat’s eight-run explosion in the bottom half of the inning began when Jackson stole home, giving Phil Campbell a 5-2 lead.
Kallie Allen led the way the way for the Bobcats at the plate, going two-for-four with an RBI and scoring two runs. One of Allen’s hits was a double.
Cummings had three RBIs, and Thomas knocked two runners in. Thomas also had a double. Jackson and Scott each scored two runs. Jackson also had a triple in the game.
Emma Swinney got the win in the circle for the Bobcats.
