PC baseball rolls past Winfield

The Phil Campbell Bobcats scored seven uncontested runs in the first four innings to run away from the Winfield Pirates 12-6 last week.
The Bobcats overcame six fielding errors to get the win.
Phil Campbell led 1-0 after one inning of play, and the score held through the fourth inning.
The Bobcats finally broke the game open in the bottom of the fourth inning on back-to-back doubles by Peyton Thomas and Nate Owens. RBI singles by Brodie Nix and Ridge Raper capped off the six-run inning, giving Phil Campbell a 7-1 lead.
Winfield scored two runs in the top of the fifth and sixth innings to cut the Bobcats’ lead to 7-5. Phil Campbell put the game away in the bottom of the sixth inning, scoring five runs led by RBI singles from Raper and Austen Baker.
Thomas and Baker led the Bobcats. Both players went two-for-four with two runs batted in and two runs scored. Raper had a three-RBI night and picked up the win on the mound going six innings allowing four hits, four runs and striking out eight.
Haleyville 3, Phil Campbell 2
The Haleyville Lions scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to get a 3-2 win over the Phil Campbell Bobcats last week.
Haleyville scored first in the bottom of the second to take a 1-0 lead. Phil Campbell claimed a 2-1 lead in the top of the fourth. Cole Motes scored on a passed ball, and Thomas singled in Daniel Smith to take the lead.
Haleyville score two runs in the bottom half of the inning to retake the lead, 3-2.
The Bobcats bats were silenced by the Lions pitching. Phil Campbell only picked up two hits in the game.
Thomas took the loss on the mound, pitching five innings, allowing three hits and three runs and striking out seven.
