Phil Campbell splits at West Point tournament

The Phil Campbell Lady Bobcats faced some stiff competition over the Thanksgiving holiday at West Point High School. The Bobcats picked up wins over perennial 2A power Cold Springs and Oakman while falling to Florence and West Point.

Phil Campbell 67, Cold Springs 59

Phil Campbell beat Cold Springs 67-59. The Bobcats held a 35-30 lead at halftime. Cold Springs cut Phil Campbell’s lead to two, 50-48, at the end of the third quarter, but the Bobcats pulled away late.

Abby Davis led the Bobcats with 19 points and seven rebounds. Chloe Roberson followed with 12 points, and Dakota Elliott had 11 points.

Kallie Allen finished with 10 points and seven assists. Kaitlyn Mills finished the game with nine points, and Darby Elliott had six points.

Phil Campbell 75, Oakman 42

Phil Campbell had no problems with Oakman at the West Point Thanksgiving Tournament. The Bobcats trailed 17-15 at the end of the first quarter but started to pull away in the second quarter, outscoring Oakman 14-8 to take a 39-25 lead. Phil Campbell extended that lead to 56-31 by the end of the third quarter.

The Bobcats had four players in double figures. Roberson led Phil Campbell with 17 points. She was followed by Mills with 16 points, Allen with 15 points and Davis with 13 points. Megan Bullock and Carley Nix scored two points each.

Florence 67, Phil Campbell 57

The Phil Campbell Bobcats led the 6A Florence Falcons 30-27 at halftime but couldn’t hang on, falling 67-57.

Davis and Darby Elliott led the Bobcats with 14 points each. Roberson added 12 points, and Dakota Elliott had 10 points. Allen finished with four points and Mills with two points.

West Point 80, Phil Campbell 70

Phil Campbell led West Point 27-21 at the end of the first quarter, but after that it was all West Point, as they went on to beat the Bobcats 80-70.

Phil Campbell had five players with double figures. Darby Elliott led Phil Campbell with 20 points. Davis followed with 16 points, and Allen had 15 points. Roberson added 11 points, and Megan Bullock added ten points.
