Vicki Vines Gandy

Vicki Vines Gandy, 63, of Russellville, passed away Oct. 8 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital.

Visitation was held Oct. 10 from 6-8 p.m. at Akins Funeral Home, Russellville. A graveside service was held Oct. 11 at 1 p.m. at Franklin Memory Gardens.

Vicki was born March 22, 1954, in Birmingham, to Marvin Taylor and Callie Vines.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her aunt Clarice Mitchell.

Vicki graduated Jacksonville State University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science in education. She then earned her master’s degree in education from the University of Alabama Birmingham.  Vicki taught at Hewitt Trussville Elementary School.

She is survived by her husband Kenneth Gandy, two sons Brandon Gandy and wife Aymee and Justin Gandy, both of Russellville, and her grandson Rhett Gandy.
