Peggy Irene Wood Wells

Peggy Irene Wood Wells, 83, Phil Campbell, passed away Oct. 16 at her home after an extended illness.

She lived most all of her life in Phil Campbell and was a member of First Baptist Church in Phil Campbell.

Mrs. Wells taught second grade at Phil Campbell Elementary School for most of her teaching career.  She was a member of Women’s Missionary Union, retired teachers of Franklin County and the Gideon Auxiliary.

Funeral service will be held Oct. 17 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Phil Campbell, with Brother Terry Buster officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 a.m. until service time.

Burial will be in Phil Campbell Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Billy G. Wells; children, Robert Maxwell and wife Sheila Wells, Charlotte Wells and husband Gary Dolan, Thomas Lee and wife Delisa Wells and Timothy Gene and wife Donna Jo Wells; grandchildren, Andy Dolan, Amy Dolan Gunderman, Julie Dolan Bolton, Jonathan Lee Wells, Brentley Gene Wells, Jeremy Ray Wells, Kasey Lynne Wells, Timothy Mark Wells, Robert Christopher Wells and Joshua Thomas Wells; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Beulah Wood, and her sister, Betty Wood.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, Phil Campbell.
