Mary Etna Garrison

Mary Etna Garrison, age 87, Tuscumbia, passed away Aug. 14 at her residence.

A graveside service was held at 6 p.m. Aug. 16, 2017 at Hyde Cemetery in Littleville.

Bro. Richard Alexander will speak at the service.

She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 70 years, JC Garrison; sons, Claude Raymond Garrison and Jerry Wayne Garrison; parents, Odell and Mary (Matlock) Vandiver; and siblings, Delmar Vandiver, Dell Vandiver, Rebecca Vandiver and Martha Lou Tyra.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Barbara Higgins and husband Donny; daughter-in-law, Debbie Garrison; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Daniel Posey and wife Ruby; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The pallbearers were James Brown, Kevin Brown, Richey Michael and Nathan Mitchel.

The family would like to extend a special thanks the nurses and staff of Amedysis Hospice, especially Melissa Pauley, Spry Memorial Chapel and Richard Alexander for the care and comfort of our family.
