Jerry Wayne Cotham

Jerry Wayne Cotham, 80, of Phil Campbell, passed away Aug. 16 at ECM Hospital, Florence. A native of Tennessee, Mr. Cotham moved from Chicago, Ill., to Alabama 46 years ago and was a self-employed farmer.

Visitation for Mr. Cotham will be Aug. 18 from 5-8 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville. Funeral services will be held Aug. 19 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Union Hill Cemetery in Phil Campbell. Officiating will be Darryl Whitehead, and pallbearers include Larry Weeks, Nader Benford, David Self, Todd Carter, Hulon Heath and Robert Hall.

Mr. Cotham is survived by his spouse, Ruby Weeks Cotham, and children: Kenneth Cotham and wife Jennifer and Angelia Hill and husband Charles. Three sisters also survive him: Dean Rice, Martha Bernardi and Patsy Wilson. A brother, Edward Cotham, also survives. Surviving grandchildren are Grant Collins, Blake Collins, Nathan Hill, Jacob Hill, Joshua Hill, Cody Cotham, Brett Cotham, Sarah Cotham and Isaac Cotham. Surviving great-grandchildren are Noah Collins, Amilia Hill, Evelyn Hill and Allie Lamonte. Tina Cotham, the widow of Jeffrey Cotham, also survives him, as do nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Cathlene Flowers Cotham, and a son, Jeffrey Cotham. Douglas Cotham and Harold Cotham, brothers, also preceded him in death.
