Trap team competes at nationals

Eleven young trapshooters from the area competed at the A.I.M. Grand American in Sparta, Ill., July 29 through Aug. 1. The juniors team, Ben Fennel, Trey McWilliams, Regan Lindsey, Cole Willingham and Jonathan Lynch scored 877 out of 1,000 points. The sub-juniors team of Rylee Rogers, Jacob Lynch, Conlee Powers, Jackson Mitchell and Kolton Robinson scored 888 out of 1,000 points. Davis Lindsey scored 165 out of 200 in individual competition. Reagan was the only award-winner of the group, placing runner-up in the Sub-Junior D Class High Overall competition, scoring 82/100 Monday and 93/100 Tuesday for a total 175/200. Coach Wade Willingham said he was proud of his competitors even without any wins. “We all had fun. We had a blast.”
