Pleasant Valley sweeps Belgreen

The Belgreen Bulldogs’ season came to an end last Thursday after being swept by Pleasant Valley 11-2 and 6-2.

The games weren’t as lopsided as the scores would indicate. Belgreen hit the ball well and pitched well. Fielding on the other hand doomed the Bulldogs.

In game one, Belgreen outhit Pleasant Valley 7-6 despite losing 11-2. The top of the order was especially effective with Colton Ashton and Noah Scott getting two hits each while Rush Berryman had three hits, a RBI and scored a run. Scott and Berryman both doubled.

Fielding, however, was an adventure. Belgreen committed eight errors behind the pitching of Ty Hamilton. Hamilton went five innings and gave up six hits and four earned runs.

In game two, Belgreen committed three more errors and scored two runs on seven hits.

Ashton and Easton Mitchell had two hits each for Belgreen. Berryman doubled in a run for the Bulldogs.

Berryman took the loss on the mound, allowing four earned runs on eight hits.
