Odis Clifton Childers

Odis Clifton Childers, 86, passed away July 25, at his residence. He was a production supervisor for American Motors for over 40 years and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Services were held July 29 at 3 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with Jammie Nanny and Malcolm Garrett officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Site Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy May Childers of Red Bay; five children, Orlon Mark Childers and wife Veneta, Charles David Childers, James Michael Childers and wife Patricia, David Wayne Childers and wife Donna and Karen Joan Childers; 15 grandchildren, Katie Brown, Angela Childers, Crystal Athey, Ryan Childers, Jayme Childers, Cole Childers, Jonathan Childers, Noah Childers, LaDonna Holt, Misty Gisoldi, Michelle Kurtis, Phillip Childers, Jeremy, Darren and Adam Marabelli and Cliff Cornell; more than 20 great-grandchildren; one brother, Milton Childers; and one sister, Sarah Anderson.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Odis Childers Jr. and Phillip Dean Childers; grandchildren Robert and Jessie Childers; and brothers and sisters, infant boy, Altha Robbins, Alfred Childers, Roy Childers, Georgia Morgan, Dorothy Scott and James Childers.

Pallbearers were Orlon Mark Childers, Charles David Childers, James Michael Childers, David Wayne Childers, Sam Childers and Dave Vanderford.

Visitation was July 29 from 1-3 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay.
